I Needed Understanding

We hear of God as a child, many of us. We have spent many hours listening to the stories, understanding and eventually telling the same to those that follow; but it isn’t until we have had a close encounter with Him is when we really begin to know Him. This is the reason for our substance abuse. He didn’t lead us into it. No! But He permitted us to go in this direction for the benefit of demonstrating His love for us, through correction and development. All those stories of how people were fed in a desert or by birds, water coming out of rock, being healed from sickness is when our relationship grows from what we have heard to what we have experienced.

It is THIS experience which causes us to want to know Him. It is THIS experience when we’re given food or money or even a cup of water when we didn’t have it and couldn’t see how to get it is when we begin to experience the love He has for us. When others would have nothing to do with us is when He was our friend. Many feel the desertion of family and friends is tantamount to complete loneliness but this is the time when we really seek friendship and we find it in Him, who is waiting for us to just look closer and see Him standing by, and has been, all along. If you have had near death experiences, it is Him who has guided you through. When you should have been shot, stabbed, overdosed and yet are alive, it is He who has been there all along, watching over you, bringing you closer and closer to Him until it is THEN you are able to see how He has guided you through your own fiery furnace experience.

And nobody can ever take that away from you. You can give it away, but it cannot be taken.

God has given you a story, a testimony…

And no one can tell it, like you can.
