Who Has Given Me My Credentials?
When Jesus was questioned by the rulers for driving out the moneychangers, it was asked, “Who gave you the authority?” Two considerations are put here: 1. Who authorizes you to do what you believe you should, and 2. Are you willing to act upon that authority? As I go forward believing God has called me to share my story of hope and encouragement I have come under criticism from those wondering what drives me to do so. I am no different than the woman at Samaria of whom Christ told about her sexual problem and she ran to the city to witness on Christ’s behalf and brought the city to Him.
When Christ has entered into your life and has opened up areas which are preventing you from entering into the Kingdom and then provides the solution to the problem, you cannot help but want others to know not only of the gift offered but what He has done for you, which means, revealing some past prior secret you wished never to divulge. When you have become freed from this burden it is easier to run and share with others, “Look what He has done for me and is able to do for you.” This is the fuel which drives the forward moments of witnessing. If many rejected the very Christ, what do you think many will do with you?
God has called me to this mission and it is only His credential I need. As I stated to a waiting congregation, I have no degree upon which I stand or certification given from an organization as a license of my reason for being here today other than knowing what God has done for me.
When God has given you authority,
You have the authority of God.
