Sex Offender

I have started a campaign to speak with churches and perhaps a Pastor is making a decision to request me to speak and you’ve become concerned as to what I will say.  Know this, I speak what the Spirit leads.  There are congregants in your care, right now, who are sexual addicts, drug addicts, Internet/Porn addicts, food addicts, gambling addicts, who’s lives are being destroyed, Sabbath after Sabbath, Sunday after Sunday, and they walk in with smiles and shallow testimonies of how God helped them get to work, or God helped them with a headache, or God caused their car to go forward although the gas indicator said “none”.  And after you have preached a wonderful sermon and made your altar call, your elders and members go back home just as they came, full of shame and disgust of themselves.  Perhaps you are one of them who has a hidden addiction and seeking for relief, too.  We need to be able to reach people where they are and not where we’d hoped them to be.  We need help and the church is the place it should be “doled out” and not “holed up”.

There is so much media regarding Sex Offenders especially determining they are hopeless and most likely to offend. What we forget is there are varying degrees of sexual offenders and we need to specify which person and which act was committed. What we, society, are doing today is similar to the witch hunts where women, more particularly, were killed because people didn’t understand them. Where blacks were killed because people didn’t understand them and now some sexual offenders are killed because we don’t understand them. Perhaps not put to death as the other groups, but in many ways probably would be considered better because having to live, or trying to live, with this designation in a society of closed minds is not helpful. No matter what someone has done doesn’t change the fact we are all “children of God”. It is true, some should be confined for the protection of others and themselves, but to treat all men AND women in a manner which is cruel and undeserving without understanding, is simply put, wrong. More on this subject later.

This page will provide helpful suggestions for those are having to register as a sexual offender.

Any additional information you believe would be helpful, please let me know.

Please note, I WILL NEVER publish an offender’s information because I believe to do so is in violation of the rights of men and women who have already satisfied whatever penalty of sentence as determined by the court.  When the law allows for the publishing for offenses such as Murder, Drug Dealing, and White Collar crimes and requires individuals such as former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer to register as a sexual offender for violating a state law instituted by his administration, then publishing the names and addresses of “all” offenders is warranted.
