Families/Loved Ones of Addicts & Sex Offenders (My Published Work)
This page is for you. As a former addict, I can guide you as to what you could/should be doing for someone who is tearing your heart out because of the deep love you have for them. Many times I sat and observed the tears of my loved ones shed for me. To see them crying and knowing I was the cause was very painful for me. Now, you no longer need to cry alone. I have gone into drug houses and brought out those family and friends caught in addiction and because I understand, they know they cannot run the game on me because I’ve been there and know truth from the lies. Perhaps the one touching moment I will carry with me to my grave was hearing my Grandmother pray for me and she didn’t know I was in the next room. Her words,
“Jesus, please remember my Grandson, Roy. I don’t want him to be lost. Jesus, You pray for him because it is the only way he can be saved…”
My eyes water now when I think back to that moment in time which set the wheels in Heaven bringing about my recovery. Thank you, Nana. Everyone knows the power of a “Grandmother’s prayer”.
Although my book, “If You Send Me, I Will Go” is written for addicts, it is also written for those who have someone they loved who is caught in addiction. I will give you a clear and opened view into the reality I faced and your loved one is going through right now. I also provide a guide to help you determine “if” there is a drug user in your home, right now, whom you suspect. It is best to try and circumvent when you can otherwise you will have to wait until the almost-always “cycle of addiction” completes it course, and I assure you, you don’t want to wait this long.
I am available to family members who are having to undergo perhaps the most difficult experience of your life in having to deal with the current laws regarding registered sexual offenders. You have no one to speak with because of your personal matter. You dread every day wondering who else on your street will learn about your spouse’s legal matter. You are worried about your children and how they will continue to develop socially if their playmates and schoolmates learn how their father or mother is a registered sex offender. You dread seeing a police car on your street wondering if they’re talking to someone about you or coming to make a “verifying address” visit. I know it is not easy. Together we can get through this.
Let me help you. Please feel free to call me and share with me your story and I will pray with you and do more if required, even so far as to come to you and get your family member into a plan of recovery for their lives. This is how serious I am about overcoming addictions. If you need me, then call me.
I’m waiting for you.
